How can I enter Heaven?

No one is perfect. Despite what people say, they can only do so much. The truth is that "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). The God who created the universe is holy (i.e. no sin possible at any time), and expects us to be likewise (Leviticus 11:44, 1 Peter 1:16).

Hence, we are not holy; therefore we are under God's condemnation, separated from Him, and destined to spend an eternity separated from Him, worse than the scariest nightmare of all time!

"Surely you know that the wicked will not possess God's Kingdom. Do not fool yourselves; people who are immoral or who worship idols or are adulterers or homosexual perverts or who steal or are greedy or are drunkards or who slander others or are thieves—none of these will possess God's Kingdom." (1 Corinthians 6:9-10 GNT)
"But cowards, traitors, perverts, murderers, the immoral, those who practice magic, those who worship idols, and all liars—the place for them is the lake burning with fire and sulfur, which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8 GNT)

Guilty of any of those things? Ever told a single lie in your life? Then God's Kingdom (and Presence) aren't for you!

But all problems have solutions, don't they? Enter God Himself. Eternally existing without beginning or end, He revealed in human form came to Earth nearly 2,000 years ago, under the name Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin descended from King David of Israel, lived a sinless life, and performed miracles. Yet, people hated Him.

Someone had to die as a sacrifice to forgive sins (Hebrews 9:22). And that person had to be sinless. Yet, that person was God Himself, also entirely man (don't try to fully understand 100% God and 100% man).

Through His death on the cross, concluding a sinless life, Jesus broke the curse of sin, took it upon Himself (Galatians 3:13), and made entry to Heaven possible. Therefore, redemption from sin and its punishment was made possible only through Christ, who remains the same every day (Hebrews 13:8) and can turn lives around (2 Corinthians 5:17)! Yes, I've witnessed Him doing that.

Salvation from hell and entry to Heaven is a free gift. All you have to do is accept it. In these three steps you

Here are three ABCs to ensure you can accept this free gift today:
  • A: Admit you are a sinner and are willing to change your old, crooked ways.
  • B: Believe that Christ died and rose from death so you could be saved, and confess he is Lord and hence your Savior. (Romans 10:9)
  • C: Change your life around. Strive to live a holy life and pray to receive God's Holy Spirit (Acts 2:37). Be baptised fully under water. Your own good works can't save you; only the Holy Spirit can make you holy enough to enter Heaven.
To help with steps A and B, you can pray a prayer like this (Greg Laurie):

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. In Your Name I pray, Amen."

If you've done that, congratulations! Here are some steps for you to grow in Christianity, which is nothing but a relationship with Jesus Himself:
  • Read a Bible (NOT the heretical Passion, Voice, or New World Translations or Eugene Peterson's The Message) daily to get to know God better, and ask God to guide you and help you practice what you learn in the Bible every minute.
  • Let everything you do glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31).
  • Talk to God every day in prayer, before every choice you make (1 Thessalonians 6:17-19).
  • Join a local church where the Bible is the sole authority. Test everything with scripture (1 John 4:1). Sadly, many Christians have resorted to conspiracy theories, despite a lack of basis or evidence. Be careful around such people.
  • Tell others about Jesus. They'll thank you for it later. (Matthew 28:19)
  • Always strive to be like Jesus, not like the world. Don't love the rubbish in the world (Matthew 7:13-14, Mark 8:38, Luke 9:26, Romans 12:1-2, 2 Corinthians 6:16-17, 1 John 2:15-17).
Good commands in the Bible to remember are the 10 Commandments (Exodus 20, Deuteronomy 5, 18:9-15), the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12), and the Two Great Commandments of Matthew 22:34-40.
Remember: obey the Holy Spirit, not the rules.

I hope this has blessed you today. I do not intend to hate anyone or force religion on anyone.
